Speaking of which...will somebody please tell me why, despite the fact that I live 4.5 hours away from the nearest major league ballpark, six teams' games are blacked out here on MLB Extra Innings. The Angels, Dodgers, Giants, Athletics, Padres and Diamondbacks are unavailable to me unless they're on Fox Sports West. This is insane. It's not like I'm going to drive to Phoenix or Oakland if the game isn't on. When asked about this Selig has only said they are "protecting the rights of the Fox affiliates". Horse hockey. Fox is paid for their programming through cable and satellite companies and MLB Extra Innings purchases. The only thing they are protecting is their right to lose me as a viewer. I will take the package again when the ridiculous blackout rules are dropped.

Predictably, when I wroite to the commissioner's office about this, I got no reply.
