Angels outfield prospect Jeremy Moore is expected to undergo hip surgery and could be out 3-5 months.
The 24-year-old speedster has been bothered by a bone spur since the start of spring training. Moore will presumably be sent to Triple-A Salt Lake once he recovers from the hip procedure. He hit .298/.331/.545 with 15 homers, 66 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 460 minor-league plate appearances last year.
Moore was ranked the #14 prospect in the Angels farm system by John Sickels. He got to play in 8 games for the big club last season. This will definitely hurt his development.
