Player KRod finishes third in AL Cy Young voting!

Congrats KRod! He got 7 second place votes and 11 third place votes to finish with 32 points in the voting, just behind Roy Halladay (71 points) and in front of Daisuke Matsuzaka (10), Mariano Rivera (3) and Mike Mussina (2).

No need to rant, we all know his season wasn't worthy of a CY and that some voters see the overrated save stat and pout him down when he wasn't even a top 3 closer in baseball this year.

If the save stat is so overrated, then why should Lidge get a Cy Young vote or any other closer?

    Rivera had a better season.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Joe Nathan was better than MO.

If Joe Nathan was better than Mo, who was better than K Rod, why does he deserve 2nd and 3rd place votes?

Why doesn't Krod deserve second or third place votes? Someone please explain to me what is wrong with 62 saves and a 2.24 ERA. I am dying to hear a REASONABLE explanation as to why!! Nathan should have gotten a vote too but didn;t. Big deal, he shouldn;t have won it anyway. Cliff Lee was the obvious choice with Halladay finishing second. After that, I have zero problem with the voting.

I agree with the voters. Cliff Lee had the best season for a pitcher in the AL. Halladay had a very good year, finishing 2nd. K'Rod had an outstanding season for a reliever, and finished 3rd. Nathan would have gotten more consideration were it not for his 6 blown saves and 2 losses. Mo lost 5 games and blew 1 save.

Rodriguez: 2.24 ERA, SEVEN blown saves,
Lidge: 1.95 ERA, ZERO blown saves
