Does that mean that it was a "real" save Dirty? 45 saves in 48 chances!!

Me thinks Hank Steinbrenner is getting jealous and planning to throw $80 million at F-Rod in the offseason.

Why? They already gave MO a three year deal.

Remember when they signed Jason Giambi to $120 million in an attempt to completely remove the Oakland A's from the competition? I can imagine them trying to do the same with the Angels.

and show me where I wrote that rodriguez isn't one of the best closers? Do you actually read what is posted?

No, it has to be an insult that anyone is even in his league.
He's not in his league, and most people who aren't fooled by the save stat realize this.

Mariano is struggling this year in tie games for some reason. He's unstoppable in save situations but he's given up runs 4-5 times in tie games. I don't get it?

Yeah it was a real save, getting 3 outs in a 1 run game is different than getting 1 out in a 3 run game.

Hank has not yet proven to be as dumb as his Father. he opens his mouth alot but he doesn't interfere. $80 mil would be a little much for a setup man, don't you agree?

I think the Yanks will make a big play for CC and maybe Teixiera. I wouldn't mind Rodriguez as a setup guy but he'd want too much $.

The save stat isn't the only thing that puts Trevor in the same league.

But keep trying to pretend that Mariano Rivera is the only elite relief pitcher to ever grace a major league roster.

Where did I say mariano was the only elite closer? All I said was Hoffman isn't close to him and he's not. Hoffman is a great cloer and will be a HOFer one day but there's being a HOF like a Phil Rizzuto and there's being a Babe Ruth type HOFer. Mariano is up w/ the unquestioned best of the best, Hoffman is a few notches below.

Krod has 46 saves as the Angels are playing out of their minds and haven't needed a save that much lately. Looks like Joe Nathan has emerged as the best closer in the land.

#50 for Krod today. He now has 50 saves to just five blown saves. He also sports a 2.60 ERA. Out of 79 wins, Krod has been a part of 52 of them!!! Amazing!
