Hmm...7 years older than you and I. Just a few years, eh? I could give you Swish's number, but if he finds out that I did, he'd kill me. And so would my bro.
I wouldn't want you to get into trouble with either Swish or your brother. I think I can live without. I have lived without a major league ballplayers phone number for 17 years so a little more time won't be too bad. Until I get Nick Markakis to give me his number. :)
You and that Markakis. Man I'm starting to think you're crazy. :D Let's see, I've got Swish's and LaRussa's...I work at the ARF place in the summer and Bianca (his daughter) and I go back a while...I also have either the A's or the Giants TV annoucer, the Kuiper's phone number cause his daughter and I go to the same school, well, used to anyway. She played on the softball team. YAY! The A's are finally on the board. It's 10-3 now. Woot woot!
Swish got the hit didn't he.
I really think Nick is great, but he does annoy me a bit when I am at the game cuz he doesn't pay attention to the fans and me.
Last year Nick Markakis was very fan friendly, but this year since he got to be a bigger star he seems to have a bigger head.
Well, during pre-game stuff, Swish is always out there signing autographs. He'll actually go into the stands sometimes and pose for pics, much to the delight of the fans and to the dismay of security. It's a shame that players let their fame get to their heads.
When I was at Camden Yards at least 15 players signed autographed before the game from the A's. They were if I can remember then all were: Swisher, Buck, D.Johnson, Ellis, Duchschrer, Chavez, Street, Haren, Blanton, Gaudin, J. Kennedy, Scutaro, Calero, Geren(Mgr), C. Young(Pitching Coach). While before the game for the Orioles the signees were C. Patterson and Miguel Tejada.
Holy toledo that's quite a few. There's always about that much at home, usually a few more. I remember that Zito always loved to interact with the fans. Bradley would too, but not as much as a guy like Swish would. Miggy always would, Giambi would, I'm pretty sure that Canseco and McGwire would too, but not every game...
That is definetly one thing about Miggy, when he drives into the game and heads to the clubhouse he never signs. But he always says he will sign inside before the game and he most definetly does.
I've never gotten to the game early enough or stayed late enough to see the players leave. Atleast not when Miggy was still with the team. A few players sign when the arrive or leave, mostly guys like Swish, Buck, Street, Kotsay on occasion, same with the rest of the infield. A lot of times the outcome of the game ans such things dictates whether they will sign or not.
Oh, I always try to get to the stadium and make a whole day of it. I usually don't stay after though, cuz it gets too late. I do however get there as the players are driving in and some sign , but most do not. More of the opposing team sign as they have to get out of a cab and walk into the stadium which is probably about 20 yards from cab to door. So they sign more. It is fun. When I go with my brothers they have fun to. With my Dad he is not much into it.
All my real brothers are either Angels fans or Dodgers fans, while my foster family is all Giants fans. Weird coincedence, eh? But we have fun with it. It does seem like more of the visiting team signs than the home team...wonder why?
It is weird, but at Camden Yards at least inside the park more fans are over near the opposing dugout trying to the the visiting teams autographs. I guess it is because they only get a few chances to get the visiting players autos and have to try when they are in town.
