Kotchman to 15-day DL; McPherson recalled

WTF is going on? I mean DL, DL, DL and more DL........

Angels place 1B Kotchman on DL, summon 3B McPherson

    May 9, 2006
CHICAGO (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim placed struggling first baseman Casey Kotchman on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday and recalled third baseman Dallas McPherson from Class AAA Salt Lake of the Pacific Coast League.

Kotchman was put on the DL as he recovers from a viral syndrome.

Kotchman, one of the Angels' top young hitting stars, has not gotten untracked this season. The 23-year-old is batting .152 with one home run and six RBI in 29 games this season. He is just 2-for-28 in his last 11 games.

McPherson, another of Los Angeles' bright young hitting stars, was batting .235 with eight homers and 22 RBI in 26 games for Salt Lake.

The 25-year-old was the Angels' starting third baseman in 2005 before suffering a season-ending hip injury on July 9. He hit .244 with eight homers and 26 RBI in 61 games.

Angels already have Tommy Murphy, Mike Napoli, Howie Kendrick, etc. up and playing regularly for them.

I miss the days back when they had the older guys. Guys like Randy Valrade, Gary Disarcina and Tony Phillips. They weren't winning but I would still watch 'em.
