Tony Graffanino traded for Chip Ambres and Juan Cedeno

Royals acquired outfielder Chip Ambres and LHP Juan Cedeno from the Red Sox for infielder Tony Graffanino.

That's from Rotoworld although it has been confirmed in other areas.

The Royals do well with the deal. They had no use for Graffanino and his future with the club is limited, he could be back, he might not. He's replaceable in FA if you want to. The Sox needed a versatile IF who can play a few positions while hitting with Bellhorn out and Mueller being rumored to be raded.

They get Chip Ambres. Although his stint as a prospect is almost done, he's only twenty-five and he has around a .950 OPS at Pawtucket. He started in the AAA all-star game. He's not the future in RF or LF, but he's certainly a capable bench guy if needed.

They also got Juan Cedeno. Low A, 20 years old, nothing special so far but has a plus fastball on him and is lefty. That alone holds value.

Both teams got something they could use for something they wouldn't.

Nice job by the Royals! They are showing that they are looking to get some good prospects that could pan out as good young talent on the major league level.

Great deal. Getting two alright specs for a guy who isn't going to really help them win some games. Fair deal for both teams.
