Royals Might Finally Have a 1B

Kila Ka'aihue made his first start since being called up for the second time and Yost seems determined to give him a fair shot. Butler isn't a good first baseman and shouldn't have been playing there all year anyway. Butler has had DH written all over him since day one. Kila was hitting .319 with 24 HRs and 78 RBI with a whopping .463 OBP.

The kid can play better defensively than Butler can. Now that Guillen has been DFA'd, Butler slides into the DH role and Kila takes 1B.
I just hope they can win a few games to keep Grienke in a Royals' uniform.

Waiting for Hosmer. Not sold on Kila, though he's a fan favorite. Butler has no power, and can only hit for average. Not a great DH.

Welcome to the boards Jason. Butler might not be a great DH but he is an even worse defensive 1B. Only place you can stick a guy like Butler is at DH. Edgar Martinez wasn't the greatest power hitter either. Give Butler a tad more time

Was just looking at the numbers this morning. Kila is hitting .159. Not a great start. He'll lose his fan favorite status pretty darn quick batting under .200.
