    Royals Pathetic Statistic

Joe Posnanski » Blog Archive » Life’s Not Fair (Royals Edition)

I’ll give you the example that bothers me these days: The Kansas City Royals have been playing astonishingly bad baseball for more than two months now. They have won 19 of their last 62 games — it is one of the worst stretches of baseball in the history of the organization. The New York Yankees have not gone 19-43 over any stretch since the Deadball Era. The Los Angeles Dodgers have NEVER gone 19-43 over any stretch. This is remarkably bad baseball.
That's awful. 19-43....that's terrible. ...I don't want to look up the Mets worst stretch, because I'm afraid it'll be almost as bad, but the Royals have a couple good pitchers, and a couple solid position players that teams are looking for on the block. With the talent they have (albeit with Gordon I believe still out), they should be better than this...

They should have been but they weren't. Inconsistant hitting, bad defense, and a shaky bullpen.

By the way, I didn't know that stat but it further depresses me.
