Royals Attendance Soaring

The Royals are averaging 21,567 fans through 21 home dates, a 16-percent increase at a time when attendance throughout baseball is down about 5 percent. A better team and $250 million of renovations to Kauffman Stadium are the driving factors, obviously, but club officials think their numbers would be even better if not for the bad economy. Their season-ticket sales, for instance, are down from 9,200 to 8,500. But here's another way to look at it: Maybe this was exactly the right time to improve the stadium.

Great job by the Royals brass to put a watchable product on the field. Wonder what the difference is between games Greinke starts and the rest of the home games. Either way this is great news for baseball.

Greinke has brought better attendance totals to OTHER teams, so I have to imagine the effect is good for the Royals at home. It would be great to see a winning team in Kansas City come October.

I think the young studs coming up will help solidify this new found love for Royals baseball. Moustakas and Hosmer are going to be staples in Kauffman. I would also like to see Gordon reach his celing as well. This team is definitely doing some things on the young talent spectrum.
