    Royals Sir Sidney dominates

He knocked out the mariners in 2.5 hours. In perhaps one of the greatest awful pitching match ups, Sidney Ponson went 7.1 innings while allowing just one run. He defeated Carlos Silva of the mariners. This was Ponson's first win of the year, he lowered his ERA to just under 6. Silva's on the other hand is approaching 9. Gotta love the pitching.
One of baseball's worst-hitting teams early in the season, the AL Central-leading Royals (17-11) have scored 36 runs during a five-game winning streak and are off to their best start since 2003."Early in the year, everybody was a little rattled because we weren't scoring runs," said Teahen, who hit his fourth homer in the third inning. "We knew we had a good-hitting team, stuck with our approach and it's paying off."The Royals quickly turned the matchup between surprising division leaders into a rout early. They battered Carlos Silva (1-3) and got 17 hits against a Mariners staff that had the AL's second-lowest ERA.

Congrats Sir Sidney. You ****ing beat a stiff that couldn't hold the S3F Nation on less than 5 runs.

Sidney Ponson vs. Carlos Silva, heh. That's not going to end up on ESPN Classic any time soon.

Could Greinke be so talented that it is contagious enough to make a pitcher like Sidney Ponson actually pitch well? I don't know, but if Ponson goes on a big streak soon, it will truly be one of the funniest things to happen this season.

All the while Luke Hochevar is 5-0 with a 1.13 ERA in AAA.

Hochevar will be up sooner, rather than later. The Royals are in pretty good shape with pitching.

But just think of how good they would be with Hochevar instead of Ponson.

    Re: Sir Sidney dominates

It'll be interesting to see what happens. Ponson has pitched better than most think. He's had two absolutely horrible starts, but has pitched well to good in his other starts. But with Hochever dominating in Omaha it's only a matter of time before he is back up. Word is the Royals are buying time so his service time won't kick in.

Now if we can get Soria healthy and on track....then watch out.
