    Re: Greinke

Zach Greinke moved to 8-1 with a complete game win over the Tigers on Tuesday night.
Greinke threw a season-high 116 pitches for his fourth complete game of the season. He scattered eight hits in the win, fanning six while not walking a batter. The Royals won the game 6-1. The only run scored in the first inning on a Magglio Ordonez RBI single. Yielding the one run, his ERA actually went up, from 0.82 to 0.84.
I want Greinke on my team This guy is just in another world.

    Re: Greinke

Filthy, just filthy. And it was his fifth complete game, not fourth. He has 5 complete games in 10 starts.

Five pitchers in the last 15 years have 5 complete games in their first 10 starts, they are:

    Greinke 2009
    Halladay 2008
    Mulder 2003
    Johnson 2000
    Schilling 1999

I knew what YOU were talking about. I just thought people interested in Greinke would like the other thread as well. Sheesh!

Ah. I thought you were overlooking the need to check your facts.

    Re: Greinke

Grienke now holds the modern day record for most starts with 7 or more IP and 2 or less ER with 10.

Among the seasons on that list
    Unit and Pedro in 2000
    Fernandomania in 1981.
Pedro in 2002 (not sure on the last one)

All of them won the Cy Young in that season.

    TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)

    Re: Greinke

Uh... what? That can't be right since he has only made 10 starts. And he has gone 5 innings once and 6 innings twice.

    Re: Greinke

I looked at the graphic wrong. Take out the 7 or more IP.

    Re: Greinke

He finally had a bad outing but bounced back nicely, though the bullpen blew it for him.

    Re: Greinke

That breeze you felt tonight was not from your AC it was the 15 strikeouts that Zack had tonight.

    Re: Greinke

That is just freaking awesome. And I say that as a strikeout aficionado, so its totally professional (that and I own Greinke in the S3F Points League, which clearly does not add to my bias.)
