    MacDougal key to bullpen

MLB.com: MacDougal will be key to the Royal's bullpen

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- When pitching coach Guy Hansen surveys the Royals' bullpen, he zeroes in on right-hander Mike MacDougal as being the key component.

MacDougal, an All-Star closer in 2003, will be a right-handed setup man for the current closer, left-hander Jeremy Affeldt.
This kid is definitely still amazing. One reason I remember him because he could throw 100 mph. Don't know if he still can, because I remember that from a few seasons ago. Nonetheless, he's a future star for KC.

Yea I hope he rebounds from last year. He was great in '03 but he disapeared last year.

He had a great first half in 2003. Had he not fallen off in the second half, the Royals may have won that division that year. He looked great in the spring so everyone is optmistic he'll pitch well. The amazing thing is that he's supposedly had good control. If he truly is back, and even improved, and once Jeremy Affeldt finds his rhythem, we could have a nice 1,2 punch in the bullpen.
