    Dotel's Impressing

Octavio Dotel struck out five in two scoreless innings Monday against the White Sox.
Dotel has been dominant, posting a 10/1 K/BB ratio in six scoreless innings to date. He has a reputation for being a better setup man than a closer, but he should be an upgrade over anything the Royals have had in the ninth inning since Jeff Montgomery was in his prime.
The Royals might just win the close ones now. Offense should be better as should the pitching. I would like to see a 10 game improvement. They still have Sanders and Brown to shop to get some pieces for the future.

I would agree with this. The Royals will take a lot of grief for giving some of the contracts they did this off-season, but they are a much better team than they were last season. I like Gordon at 3B and Teahan in Right.

Hopefully he gets plenty of save opportunities.
