you don't have to be a fan of management to be a fan of the team.

As I said, there's a difference between not going to the games (ie giving money to the owner) and completely jumping ship.

And i'm not judging the guy, but I don't have to have respect for him.

I mean, seriously, if you suddenly proclaimed yourself a fan of another team would you have any kind of satisfaction if that team won the World Series as opposed to the Padres winning it?

(of course, I don't know if you're a Padres fan first or an Angels fan first. you've never really answered that question)

No. I've answered it, you just haven't seen it.

I grew up with the Pads since '68. My Dad even played for them for a short time before he was shipped off to Korea in the early 50's.

I became an Angels fan around '82 when I lived in LA and I used to get free tix from a vendor for Angels games. That was great.

I don't have a problem with someone switching allegiances to a team. Now if you suddenly started rooting for the Dogs or D'bags, I'd seriously wonder......

I guess what it adds up to really is that nothing is absolute. As we get older and have more life experiences, things, opinions, preferences, etc change. That has been one of my biggest surprises as I got older. Never say never.

I know I'm acting like an old person and I can't wait to hear what Zit Boy has to say about that......

The only way I can understand someone switching allegiences is if they move and root for the new home team.

I can comprehend cheering for the team you can regularly attend games to now.

Just switching because you disagree with current management? NO RESPECT.

his new team (Indians) is a testiment that a preanually crap team can turn it around, he should know better.

Yeah, I got that too. Go figure. Unless its a geographical thing.

Just because I live in AZ, doesn't mean I root for the D'bags......lets just set that straight from the get go. I never liked them and never (there I go with that never) will.

I used to be a Dog hater BIG TIME. I mean, we had a bumper sticker back in the 70's/early 80's that said DODGERS SUCK. Today though I watch them on TV and have even rooted for them on occasion, even though that hate factor runs WAY deep. WHOA - how things change.

While I don't know the guy, I truly believe if the Royals drastically turn it around in a few years and win the World Series, he'll be right back on our bandwagon. Is he any sick of the organization and the losing than me or any other Royals fan? Hell no he isn't. The Royals didn't move, they didn't get contracted. While he moved, he also didn't change to the home team nor did he change teams when he moved or even because he moved. He changed teams because he is sick of his team losing. That's weak in my opinion. What's he going to do if the Indians go into a horrible run? Switch again?

There is other teams I'm fond of and I pull for, the Red Sox for one. But I always put the Royals first, even when they play each other late in the season when KC has nothing to play for and the Sox are battling the Yankees for a division. You just don't change teams on a whim and earn my respect.

And why is a bandwagoner getting the press like that? He's doing nothing special, except selling out. He may not owe anything to the Royals, but he's basically spitting on us true fans because of his change of heart.

They should buy the guy and put him in at closer for the Braves.

I wonder how the dude felt watching his new Indians get swept by the Royals the week after this article came out?

    Royals

Does anyone care that Reggie Sanders became the 5th member of the 300 HR/300 SB club? Guess not being that he is on the Royals and has absolutely NO visability. Funny how 5 days later Steve Finely became the 6th member of that elite club.

So, I wonder if this guy is still calling himself an Indians fan after the Royals won a World Series and the Indians choked in one.

    Karma wins this battle.
