Astros MLB nearing decision on discipline for Astros

Oh, but reportedly the players involved won't be punished. Like Jim Crane or Jeff Luhnow being fined a few bucks is supposed to make me feel better about their asshole team cheating my team out of their only shot at a World Series title in my lifetime.

So is my cynicism. And my cynicism says MLB won't do shit. I can only hope that the Dodgers aren't another team that stands accused (the Mets' accusations notwithstanding) when MLB gets their shit together.

If AJ Preller gets suspended for withholding some medical records in trades the other team got the better of and had to return Luis Castillo in the process then there better be some repercussions for cheating that directly lead to World Series wins.

BREAKING: Per sources, MLB’s penalties for #Astros include: *One-year suspensions for GM Jeff Luhnow and manager AJ Hinch. *Losses of 1st and 2nd round draft picks in both 2020 and ‘21. *A fine of $5M.

MLB has placed former #Astros assistant GM Brandon Taubman on its ineligible list. Discipline for #RedSox manager Alex Cora, the Houston bench coach in 2017, will be determined after MLB completes its investigation of Boston.

Luhnow and Hinch were fired, made the scapegoats by Jim Crane for costing him a few bucks in fines. But guess who gets to keep the trophy?

Pete Rose was banned for life for placing bets on his team to win. Shoeless Joe was banned for life for accepting bribe money to throw the World Series. John Coppolella was banned for life for committing amateur signing infractions. Donald Sterling was banned for life for getting caught making racist remarks in private conversations with his mistress. Yet these dickbags get just a year for cheating that directly led to World Series wins.

I agree completely, Mofo. Disappointed in Manfred and his crew.

Joe Kelly got more games for taunting the Astros players than the Astros players did for cheating that led to a World Series title.
