In his first major league start, Jordan Lyles allowed two runs -- one earned -- over seven innings against the Cubs.
He took a no-decision, but this was a mightily impressive start for the 20-year-old. Baseball America's 42nd ranked overall prospect heading into the season struck out four while giving up no walks and five hits. Lyles posted a 3.20 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 41/16 K/BB ratio through his first 10 starts (59 innings) for Triple-A Oklahoma City this year.
Good news for the future of the Astros!! Wasn't aware he was ranked so high but definitely looked like he was a top 50 prospect tonight. Wandy, Lyles and Norris could be a good starting three for years to come.
