    Craig Biggio 3000th Hit Watch

I don't know how many of you realized this, I forgot about it until I saw it on ESPN this morning, but Craig Biggio is very close to his 3000th career hit. Nobody seemed to be watching this here so I decided to start up the watch. I have always been a big fan of Biggio anyway.

In the Astros 6-1 win over the Rangers in yesterday's game, Biggio went 2 for 5 bringing his career hits total to 2970. Only 30 more hits to reach 3000 and ensure his place in the hall of fame.

Hope he gets. He has been loyal to the Astros. He seems like a good guy, and a true team-player and hard-nosed competitor!!

I am wondering why this is getting very little press. I mean this is a huge deal and it is gaining no attention by ESPN or anybody for that matter.

Here is to Biggio getting his much deserved credit as it is due. I will praise his feat to 3000.

uuummm... Cause some guy named Bonds (unfortunately) is closer to the HR record and it has more controversy.

Biggio is quiet and does NOT need the limelight, like some others do, not mentioning any names though... but we all know who these athlete(s) are in the world of sports!!

Yeah I know Bonds takes all the limelight even though he seems he doesn't wantit. But Biggio deserves better. The hype just isn't there like it needs to be, you know?

I know Biggio deserves better, and totally agree with you. But do you really believe Bonds doesn't want publicity? Please, he always seems to act like that, but he always manages to thrive on it as well!!!

Back to Biggio though, Not in a real big market or hot bed for baseball either. Bigger than our teams, but he just keeps to himself and contributes and stays out of the limelight!

This is just giving Bonds more attention. Lets just put him behind us.

This is to Biggio, a great guy and great ballplayer which should be a future HOF'er. I sure hopes he gets his 3000th hit and I'm sure he will.

I couldn't agree more with that. Bonds has no place in a thread for a class act person and ballplayer.

In the Rangers 14-1 romp over Houston yesterday, , Biggio went 0 for 4 remaining 30 hits shy of 3000

Re: Craig Biggio 3000th Hit Watch

Then lets talk Biggio. In last night's 4-0 loss to the Giants he came 1 hit closer to 3000 with a 1 for 3 performance. Now 29 hits short of the milestone.

Re: Craig Biggio 3000th Hit Watch

Biggio finally got himself a hit. He went 1 for 3 with his 14th double of the year last night leaving him 27 hits shy of 3000.

On an off-note, the double was the 651st of his career. That ranks 7th in MLB history, 6 behind Nap Lajoie for 6th all-time.
