Astros re-signed second baseman Craig Biggio to a one-year, $5.15 million contract.
As expected, Biggio will spend a 20th season with the Astros and most likely collect his 3,000th hit with the team he's played for his entire career. He's currently 70 away. The Astros figure to give him another chance to start regularly at second base, but if he keeps struggling against right-handers and on the road, they'll have to turn to Chris Burke more frequently. It's likely that Biggio would be more valuable to the team in a lesser role.
