This is a terrible deal, silly Jim Bowden. In that park, Soriano will tank bad. and not only that, but where does Vidro play now? And what the hell, Wilkerson AND Sledge AND a player to be named later?

God dammit, this deal is going to blow up in the Nats face.

So now we get a significant downgrade from Wilkerson to Soriano, OR from Sledge to Soriano, and our defense suffers at that!

This deal is absolutely terrible. Soriano will suffer horribly from hitting in the Washington park. His BA will drop, his HRs will drop, and he'll be playing terrible defense in the outfield.

Washington has the financial means to pay for Manny, while Texas really wanted to shed some payroll in any Soriano deal. Now Boston could end up with a lot of potential to hit either ahead of or behind Papi in the lineup however Boston wanted to set it up. Just a guess out in LF.

Soriano in left is no worse than Manny in left. Soriano can contribute a lot to this team. Some homers will turn into doubles and that's not bad at all since we all know homers are rally killers. Rangers make out well getting a CFer who can do some things. This is one of those have to wait and see type things but I guess they all are really.

Except there isn't a single year in which Soriano has even been even with Manny in terms of offensive production. Not even close. Defensively he's no worse, but Manny's offense makes him tolerable out there.
