nah i was joking. hed instantly be, at the least, our 3rd best starter, depending on how one personally feels about pineda and tanaka. he just had a bad night tonight, lots of line drives.

Sometimes not doing something is a good thing. Kimbrel is not a necessity and honestly doesn't give the Yankees any of the slightest better chance at winning compared to say getting a solid starting pitcher or an upgrade at second or whatever else they might need. It's one thing if Betances and Miller sucked, but they don't. Plus Warren is solid.

i dont really remember the last time the yankees made a HUGE deal at the deadline. we've made small moves the last couple years, but nothing really big.
But, they are always in the talks, aren't they and sometimes, that can be a tactic....especially in our division...making someone else make a big move thinking they have to do something because the Yankees might do something. The Yanks hold a mighty powerful psychological weapon even if they don't end up doing a damn thing.
our name is always bandied about sure... but even taking this season in to talks. we were never a favorite for price or hamels, we werent even heavily talked about for tulo before that deal got done. last year, there was nothing surrounding us with lester, and we were never taken seriously as a contender for price. we're the yankees, so our name is always thrown out there, but we've rarely been a realistic destination the last couple seasons. i think our aura is overrated, ever since george died.
