That's interesting. Highly interesting. Rangers need the power.

    Prince to the Rangers

I wonder if Prince's contract will cost them more than he ends up being worth. But it might be worth the risk, truthfully.

Considering they just traded for a Cano's-Demands-level contract I kind of doubt that.

Sounds like a win-win for both, especially the Tigers freeing up some money.

    Re: Prince to the Rangers

And...he's calling it quits after just 1 full season in Texas sandwiched between two seasons shortened by major neck surgery.

But instead of officially retiring, he'll be placed on the DL indefinitely so he can freeload off his $24M guaranteed annual salary through 2020. The Tigers got lucky Dombrowski found a fool to take on one of his typical burdensome contracts.

Fun fact: Cecil and Prince both finish their careers with 319 home runs.

    Re: Prince to the Rangers

Isn't his contract to be paid out as such:

    Texas: $9 million/season
    Detroit: $6 million/season
    Insurance: $9 million/season

As long as he's on the DL, according to Forbes.

Albert Belle, Prince Fielder, or Bobby Bonilla which is the greatest scam job?
