I don't know how much sense this makes for Arizona despite Kennedy being kind of down this year, but I don't mind it for SD.

ARZ supposedly wanted to dump payroll to give them financial flexibility for the deadline, so, may be it.

low 2 ERA in SD in 6 career starts, I'd hope not!

He's a fly ball pitcher, perfect for Petco. I have no idea what to make of Kennedy. One year he's a legit Cy Young candidate, the next he's sporting a 5 ERA?

Oh well. Unless Stiles is a good prospect, I'd say it's worth a gamble for a specialist out of the pen. Especially if he does well and San Diego flips him for significantly more value down the road.

The "Big 3" all pitched in one game. One of them pitched for the other team. The only one who looked like anything remotely good this game is now a RP with serious issues. At least his ERA is under 5 now. Sigh.

Kennedy pitched very well. Took til the 6th to even give up a run.

He put 8 runners on base in less than 6 innings. I'd say he pitched around trouble.

I'm not saying he pitched like an ace, but you said "anything remotely good".

I'd say 5 shutout innings before handing the game to the pen in the 6th with only 2 runs scored at least qualifies for that much.

He was lucky. He didn't look good. The results? They were good. His pitching? Very mediocre.
