Casey and Soriano to the Mets?

Rumor has it that a deal is close between the Rangers, Reds and Mets. The Mets would get Sean Casey and Soriano, and the other two teams would get pitching prospects in return.

Things could certainly change, but it appears something could be close on this front.

I remember earlier that Heilman and Petit were mentioned in a trade between Mets and Rangers. Could get interesting. This deal could get bigger than just Casey, Soriano, and some pitching spects.

do you got a link or something? I've heard and seen the Soriano rumors, but they have cooled off supposedly because the Rangers want too much.

Maybe one of the Reds' OFers to the Rangers in the deal too?

    CRF has hookups.

Anyway, I've heard in the rumor pipeline anything from Mets lower end prospects (Juan Dominguez) and MLB ready pitching like Aaron Heilman (different variations of that as well). If the Mets would take Casey's entire contract, I would be extremly satisfied with just Heilman.

CRF, have you heard if there will be much salary help involved for the Mets with these contracts? Or maybe them dumping a smaller contract on the Reds or Rangers?

    Thanks

Maybe CRF knows something but from the other sites I visit, I havent seen much about this three way deal with the Reds sending a MLB player to the Rangers way.

It really doesn't look like a Reds outfielder would be involved in the deal if it goes through. Reds Cincy Enquirer beat guy John Fay thought it did(Dunn) but that appears to be inaccurate.

He said he talked to(Reds GM) O'Brien and O'Brien said there was nothing to the rumor, but he probably told him the rumor he had heard was for Casey AND Dunn. Also, O'Brien has been known to send mixed signals in the past, so I don't believe anything he says about trades.

hmmm! Could get interesting everyone! I would love to get Casey's contract off the books as well. Lets hope this one goes through. I don't know if any other team is in need of a good 1B. So, it may have to be the Mets.

I bet the mets wish they had Kazmir still. I'd imagine he could help them land a good veteran MIF'er or 1B like Soriano and/or Casey.

I can't imagine the Mets would be willing to pull the trigger on a deal that nets themn both Casey and Soriano. Keep the possibility open that the Mets would get one, but what would they deal for the both? Two prospects, Cameron, Zambrano...I think the price would be too high for both of those guys at the same time.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I don't get that. He would be a nice bat but I think Walker is doing pretty good. Would be a nice bat though lol.
