He wasn't the owner yet for those two.
He took over as owner in 1991, the year after the Bengals last won a playoff game...
Coincidence? I think not.
It does appear there is a $4 million cash payout and now 2 more players involved going to Miami, Jeff Mathis and Anthony DeSclafani bringing it up to 12 players.
Sources also say Selig has no plans to nix this deal and as usual contingent on physicals.
The Twitter universe is ablaze.
I thought OOTP only allowed 10 player trades?
OOTP is outdated.
Ah, thank you for clearing that up for me
6.5 allows max of 5 on each side.
But each league has their own rules.
I don't think Bud will interfere, probably just a formality but the trade is "under review".
Selig reviewing pending Marlins-Blue Jays deal
I thought expanding the playoffs was good. /shrug
Which expansion?
The first one was good.
The 2nd one could have been fine....if they didn't make it a one game playoff for the two WCs.
In my opinion whether you think this is good for baseball depends more on which team (or owner) you like better.
This is awesomeness for the Blue Jays. Marlins fans feel shafted, can’t blame them. On paper this looks juicy for the Jays and relegating the Marlins into a AAA team.
Course this is the initial reaction, who knows what will actually play out. Could blow up in the Jays face just as getting all those names blew up for the Marlins or they could crush the AL East. The Marlins could be rebuilding for years or they could mish mash a bunch of producing rabble together and actually compete and be next years’ Oakland A’s.
As a Rays’ fan I am torn. So, NOT looking forward to facing Buehrle or even Johnson along with the rest of the formidable Jays pitching staff or chasing Reyes or Boni all over the infield. Yet, whatever might take more wins away from the Yankees or Red Sox so the Jays, O's and Rays can have a better shot at the division or WC’s…………….YES!!!! It's all a matter of perspective.
As someone that watches the Marlins since their games are aired here too, I feel sooooooooo sorry for the likes of Stanton, Morrison and those Miami fans and tax payers that have tried to stick with them despite Loria.
On the expansion, I am half and half, love the extra WC hate the one game, why not just a regular best of 3 like most of the season? Alas, we didn't get a vote.
I had no problem with the one game playoff. I just wasn't a fan of the infield fly rule. /weep
