Whether it's the A's or not, Uehara seems very likely to be playing in another uniform this season. Rangers are thought to be clearing space for Oswalt or Mike Gonzalez. The Orioles were interested in bringing Uehara back and Uehara himself likes the idea but doesn't look like it will happen. Uehara struggled in the post season last year and was eventually left off the WS roster.

Word is that he'd likely close in Oakland, too, so that has to be some incentive for him. And while no players have been named for a deal, it's been speculated a Major League outfielder would head to Texas to complete the deal.

Oakland definitely has some OFers to spare now. I could see Uehara and Fuentes sharing closing duties.

Fuentes is a new name for me. All offseason I've been hearing Balfour was going to be undisputed closer until Uehara rumors started.
