The Wily Mo return ended already. He's off to a championship team in Japan.

FUKUOKA, Japan -- Former Major League Baseball outfielder Wily Mo Pena has signed a two-year contract with the Japan Series champion Softbank Hawks.

Pena, from the Dominican Republic, played for the Seattle Mariners this year, then became a free agent at the end of the season.

Softbank announced the signing on its website Friday.

Pena had 425 hits and 84 home runs in eight seasons with the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox, Washington Nationals, Arizona Diamondbacks and Mariners.
The Pacific League's Hawks won this year's Japan Series, beating the Central League's Chunichi Dragons in seven games.
