    Giants Trade Tim Lincecum?

    Trading Tim Lincecum

Should the Giants trade Tim Linceerrrrrrrrrrrkkkkack - McCovey Chronicles

I post this now based on speculation, and down right stupidness.

Wouldn't be a bad thing, and wouldn't be a good think either IMO. But I'll still throw it out there for Reefer and others to comment on.

I think there would be a GM that would overpay for his services. To me there are two questions around him.

    1) can he retain that motion for a long period of time?

    2) is his deceptiveness lost as more teams seem to be hitting him now?

For me he's in the Umbaldo range was solid, shaky last season. Was it a fluke or will it repeat it's self? There are very few pitchers that have a great career. If the Giants get a good haul, I say pull the trigger.

What are you talking about Zodius? You must be thinking of 2010 because this past year he was just as good as he had been! Lincecum gained velocity on his fastball and still had the strikeouts to go with the low ERA. Walks were up but he always got the timely strikeout to limit the damage. Teams are not hitting him more as they only hit .222 last season. Lincecum has two years left so yes, a team would definitely have to overpay for his services if they want a top 5 pitcher! There is no comparison to Ubaldo at all!! Giants wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't entertain offers for Lincecum. They would have to get a mix of MLB talent and prospects.

Think the trade of Sanchez basically kills all notions of trading Tim.

Ubaldo is injury prone and clearly has issues regarding future health...questions at least. Lincecum has been pretty durable. There's no comparison between the two.

As long as they stay away from the Empire.... I mean I'd really hate for them to have CC, Lincecum, and Kershaw in a few years

When was the last time the Dodgers lost one of their superstar players to another team?
