Two trades have been made, and it appears that another maybe on the way.

Houston did well on the Pence deal, maybe not so much on Bourn who I thought could have got a better selection of prospects.

The Bourn trade was great for Atlanta, IMO. None of the guys given up were top specs, although they might still do well in Houston.

Yeah everything I read seems to make Atlanta the winner in that trade. He's not a FA this year so that's a major selling point in Atlantas favour.

I like the Bourn deal for both sides. The Astros got three arms and a 4th/5th OFer and the Braves got a GG CFer through 2012 and I wouldn't be surprised if they extend him. He is a good top of the order hitter and will create runs with his speed. Great pickup for the Braves.

Wanda Rod is likely staying put for now. Houston is reportedly done trading. Cleveland was close on Wanda though according to reports.

Bourn and Prado up top will be fun to watch and hopefully Uggla carries over his great July production. Just need McCann back and Heyward to catch fire.

The Astros have selected outfield prospect Domingo Santana from the Phillies as the player to be named later to complete the Hunter Pence trade, tweets Alyson Footer. The Astros had previously acquired prospects Jarred Cosart, Jonathan Singleton, and Josh Zeid from the Phillies for Pence and $2MM on July 29th.

Santana, 19, is hitting .269/.345/.434 in 391 Low-A plate appearances this year while playing right field and DH. Baseball America ranked him ninth among Phillies prospects prior to the season, praising his athleticism and raw power.

Looks like the Astros side of the deal looks even better. I like the haul they got.
