MR is so fickle year to year, really should have MR by committee. On 1 or 2 yr deals max and see how that works

Despite all their (many) faults, that's the one thing the Padres seem to do right year in and year out.

I say this even despite Chad Qualls giving up 3 HRs today.

"Give It Away" Guerrier strikes again.

Gee, I can't see this one ending badly.
I amaze myself with how I can see all the red flag warnings that the GM apparently never sees when he pulls the trigger on a signing or trade.

Matt Guerrier DFA'd by the #Dodgers. In the last 2 days, the #Dodgers have replaced 2 veteran relievers (Guerrier, Moylan) with 2 hard-throwing youngsters (Withrow, Dominguez).
Where is Ned Colletti and what have they done with him?

Dodgers, Cubs Closing In On Marmol Trade: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

6:54pm: If the Dodgers get Marmol, the Cubs would pay most, if not all, of the $5MM owed to him tweets Ken Gurnick of MLB.com. The Cubs might also get a player recently removed from the Dodgers' roster. Gurnick doesn't specify, but the recently DFA'd Matt Guerrier would fit the bill.
At first glance this is the dumbest acquisition ever. Yet I'm hopeful there's an off-chance this pans out, because it's the Cubs after all.

You disappoint me mofo, when I saw this on the wire I expected a full on rant. Though I agree the Cubs long reign of bad luck probably outweighs the recent string of the Dodgers.
