Seriously, not that I'm doubting Sandy Alderson's intelligence, but there's no way he can possibly contort signing this guy into a good idea. Canseco has basically admitted he's a 1B through twitter, and the Mets have a young, good potential 1B already in Ike Davis. There's no place for Canseco.
