Padres to get Maybin

According to AOL Fanhouse's Tom Krasovic, Cameron Maybin will be traded to the Padres.
Krasovic broke the news of the Ryan Ludwick trade at the deadline, so we suspect this is legit. There's no word yet on who the Padres are giving up in the deal, but it's a nice get for San Diego, as Maybin definitely has change-of-scenery breakout potential. He was a top-5 prospect in baseball at his peak, and although he has yet to show much at the big league level, he won't turn 24 until April and has just 548 at-bats under his belt.

This could be a huge trade for the Padre or a huge bust. Maybin so far has been a bust and going to another pitcher's park isn't likely to help either. He's still young and can turn things around but he is definitely not the five tool player we were told he was when first traded for Miguel Cabrera. The Marlins will now have nearly nothing to show for trading Cabrera and Willis.
