What Huizenga and John Moores did in successive years is certainly more commendable to me than Frank McCourt's thinking, "Why should I spend $150 million to win 98 games when I can spend half that to win 90, if that's all it takes to make the playoffs?", which is practically a page out of Jeffrey Loria's playbook.

They won with mostly talent they grew or had acquired and grew in the minors. Beckett dominated the Empire on the biggest stage. That's not luck. That's just something your Dodgers haven't had since you were in diapers. SUCK it.
If winning the Series was strictly a science, the Braves with Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz/Millwood would have gone to the World Series every year instead of getting ousted by the Marlins, Padres (Sterling Hitchcock, really?), Cardinals, and Giants, all teams with inferior pitching. But they didn't, so sucks for you, too.
