He could be happy in his rut. Some guys don't really seem to care about being with a winner. He is settled in Texas, the fans love him, he knows the park, and that might be good enough for him.

Now the Cards are the reported front-runner. I just don't see how they add his contract and still have any hope of re-signing Pujols.

Plus if he gets dealt to the Cards, the Reds are done.
