Orioles Orioles bring back Miguel Tejada

Terms are not yet known, but with him coming in on a one year deal and to a league that will let him stay out of the field... its a good move.

Tejada really had one awful month that killed his overall stat line, but he still is a quality AB and a guy who plays day in and day out and has done it for years.
The Orioles have reached an agreement with free agent Miguel Tejada on a one-year deal, according to a team source, reuniting with the six-time All-Star who played in Baltimore from 2004-2007.

Terms of the deal, which is pending a physical that will take place over the next couple days, are not known at this time.

Tejada hit .313 with 14 home runs and 86 RBIs in 158 games last season for the Houston Astros.

After spending four seasons with the Orioles, Tejada was dealt to the Astros in December 2007 for Mike Costanzo, Matt Albers, Troy Patton, Dennis Sarfate and Luke Scott.

I'm glad it wasn't the Cardinals. I secretly wished he could still play SS and the Reds would grab the opportunity. I guess there is still Orlando Cabrera.

I wonder what this signing will have to do with Garrett Atkins. If Tejada is at 3B and Izturis is at SS, where does Atkins fit? Is he once again an off the bench player?

And what about Ty Wiggington? I guess it won't be too hard to put one of these guys on the bench. We aren't talking superstar contracts here really.

This deal is reportedly worth 6 big ones. Not too bad, around what I expected him to get.

Atkins said in a radio interview several weeks ago that the O's wanted him to play 1B.

I am glad Miggy is back, but more importantly only for one year.

Alright sounds good to me. I simply want to see Atkins get over his horrible play of late.

I am liking this Orioles offense quite a bit.

And I think he will for sure. Yes, he was overrated, just as my guy Jay Bruce was and Delmon Young before them. But, let's watch our guys make things happen this year bro!

And I have really loved seeing Adam Jones come into his own. Nick Markakis, need I say more?

So he really is going to play 3B? You mean, someone's going to be smart about using Tejada somewhere besides SS? This is yet another sign that the world is going to end.
