Three most important transactions of the day

    1. Billy Beane's extension: Oakland locks up their GM, who had helped the team to multiple divison titles in spite of payroll. One of the shrewdest GMs in the game

    2. Curt Schilling's DL stint: Everyone expected it, and although the Sox will not have to move Halama into the rotation, he's still a big loss when he could have been set up for two Yankee games. Rather have him in October than April though

    3. Ben Grieve was let go: He should be a quality 4th or 5th OF for a team that needs one. If McCarty isn't guaranteed a roster spot, Grieve wouldn't be a bad pickup for the Red Sox. He's been an average COF in his career, but a lot of teams could use him as an insurance piece.

    Yeah baby

    3. Ben Grieve was let go
Damn, the former ROY has fallen mighty far. Good thing we got rid of him when we did.

Glad to see one of the top GMs get an extension in Beane.

For the rest of the news, nothing to big or surprising.
