Oh, and the White Sox are sending cash considerations to cover some of the remainder of the salary.

Thome's OBP dropoff concerns me. He had a .400 OBP before the ASG and only a .317 OBP after. Anyone who knows the AL Central, is that a sign of his deteriorating skills or just impatience coming through after a subpar first half (ie pressing to get hot)?

As a pinch hitter, he'd probably still hit more homeruns than Loney. Hey, just think, if they make it to the series, they won't have any lineup issues adjusting to the DH.

If Thome doesn't start hitting the ball, I say **** him and the cart that he rode in with. If he has less use than Juan Castro, leave him off the 25-man roster.
