    Red Sox Nomar retires

He signed a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Saux, despite his profile at Yahoo, ESPN, baseball-reference, et. al., will indicate he finished out his playing career with the Oakland A's.

And if you thought ESPN's coverage of Yankees-Red Sox was annoying before.... let me introduce Baseball Tonight's newest addition!

So this is their counter to firing Phillips and losing Gammons.... Nomar?

    Okay, sure.

I heard on the radio that he will be working for MLB Network. I have to admit, I have yet to watch BBTN since MLBN started. Or even ESPN for that matter. Anyone else think that BBTN is a dying breed?

I still watch ESPN, as a second source, and I think it still does have its relevancy, but it definitely will struggle without Gammons. If Olney is their go to guy, they are in trouble.

I'm surprised he'd want to technically retire a Red Sox player after the way they shuttled him out of there.
