    Dodgers Manny Says No...Again

ESPN is reporting Manny has turned down the latest Dodgers offer of two years, $45 million dollars. The deal was constructed in a way that Manny would get $25 million for year one with year two being a player option worth $20 million. How Manny could turn this down I have no clue but this is the fourth time Manny has rejected the Dodgers!! How many times can Colletti be rejected before he says enough is enough?? Colletti wasted a lot of time and effort on Manny and now they have a weak rotation and bullpen and are stuck with Pierre in LF.

You can't call him an idiot until you find out, what he finally gets. A month ago you woulda been shocked if Manny got this offer so lets see what he ends up getting and then go from there

    It's spring training already!

Time for him to quit being a jackass and accept a 20+ million dollar offer to play a game for 2 years!

If he was going to get a better offer he would have gotten it by now.

This one is structured much better, the 2nd year is like the AJ Burnett option where it will only be accepted if he sucks. So its really a 1 yr/25 mil or 2 yr/45 mil deal depending on how well he does.

I still think the winning bid will be 2 yrs/55 mil for Manny

And Leo, just cause you think the guy is a jerk, doesn't mean he's being smart. He knows the Dodgers need Manny more than Manny needs the Dodgers so he's holding out for every last bit of money. Nothing wrong with that, If I knew the company I worked for needed me more than I needed them I'd hold out for a bigger salary too.

    Re: Manny Says No...Again

My opinion has nothing to do with thinking he's a jerk. (although I kind of do)

He's holding out to see if he gets better offers that are not there.

He refused the last one and it worked, he got offered a 2nd year.

Refusing that one is just being stupid. Eventually the Dodgers will grow tired and just quit.

But, since you brought it up, he is a ****ing jerk.

The guy has made how many millions of dollars already? He's being offered over 40 million as is? And he's holding out?

    What a ****ing asshole.

Exactly my point. He was offered a 1 year, $25 million deal a month ago and a two year, $45 million deal back in November.

    Re: Manny Says No...Again

PHOENIX (AP)—The Los Angeles Dodgers have pulled their $45 million, two-year offer to Manny Ramirez, and owner Frank McCourt said Sunday that negotiations will have to start again from scratch.

The issue separating the two sides appears to be how the $45 million will be paid out. The Dodgers wanted to defer payment of $10 million until 2011, $10 million more to 2012 and $5 million to 2013.

Boras’ latest proposal was for a $45 million, two-year deal with no deferred payments.

McCourt said Sunday that offer only came after Boras responded to the $45 million offer with a proposal for $55 million for two years. He said the Dodgers rejected that proposal.

“You can’t get a no and then when the other side says, ‘OK, we’re going to start fresh,’ you say, ‘I meant yes,”’ he said. “That’s not how it works. It’s too little, too late. It wasn’t multiple choice.”

The owner also said Boras’ suggestion that the deferred money proposal is keeping both sides apart is a red herring and the agent had encouraged deferred money to be part of the offers from the beginning.

Despite the sometimes acrimonious exchanges between the two camps, McCourt also said he expects negotiations to resume soon.

“We want to see Manny a Dodger this year,” he said.
Frank, you ****ing broke piece of shit. You're asking for a death wish this year not only for yourself, but for Colletti and Pierre as well.

and got out of more of Spring Training. Instead of getting 20 mil this year he gets 25 in exchange for defering some cash. If I heard/read right.
