Even so, rumors persist that the Rangers would love to trade Soriano for a starting pitcher and move Young back to second. General manager John Hart said that is not the case, and Showalter said the Rangers could win a championship with Young at shortstop, second base or even center field. Young insists another position change will never be an option.

I'm sure Texas would trade Soriano to another team, if they got a good SP back. Soriano is a great player and would be able to make another team much better.

I think this might work for them. If they had some pitching they would be a playoff contender but probably not now.

Soriano has to be traded for a proven starter. A group of prospects is not gonna cut it. Personally I wouldn't trade him because it is impossible to find a 40/40 second baseman.

Depends. 2003 Soriano will be worth a nice package, 2004 isn't.

Waruv is right, Soriano had a bad season in 2004, even though he moved into a hitter's paradise. He's Juan Samuel. That's it. Teams are figuring him out, and he hasn't shown the adjustments necessary to give him a long career.
