I could see a possible return the Cleveland on a one year deal. They are pretty thin at second base. The guy can still hit. He can be a 2B/DH for teams like Seattle and Toronto (he's played for the too) and some NL teams will interested too. He can find a job pretty easily. If he does retire, we'll see him in Cooperstown.According to the Los Angeles Times, Jeff Kent is "expected to retire."
Kent hit .280/.327/.418 to post an OPS below 800 for the first time since 1997 and lost his starting job by season's end, so the 40-year-old may not be interested in finishing his Hall of Fame-caliber career as a role player. However, he's just one year removed from hitting .302/.375/.500 and would likely have no trouble finding a decent-paying job.
