Probably not, but they do have a remote chance to try.

Like I said before, I am so glad Seattle got on the Bavasi train.

What do the 2001 Dbacks and 2008 M's have in common? Miguel Batista.

This deal might be falling through.

While I partially agree with some of the points made about Bedard's limited experience, I have to say as an O's fan that he is the real deal. The whole oblique injury he suffered near the end of the year probably wasn't as bad as some made it to be. If he were on a contending, playoff-bound team, he could've come back. The O's just didn't want to risk another injury before an offseason where he'd be the primary trade bait in a major rebuilding plan. As far as what we might be getting, I am pretty excited. Of course M's fans will complain about the team giving too much away. However, the nature of the MLB is such that each team must make a choice before every season: stockpile for the future or make a run for the big one. What is most important to remember is that the M's will be getting an on-the-rise, dominant talent. Plus, he will be facing somewhat easier lineups out west in comparison to the vaunted bats of the AL East. As long as he an stay away from injuries, Bedard should continue his success. The O's, while obviously getting a good amount of potential MLB talent, are still mainly receiving potential contributors instead of proven success.

Adam "Don't call me Pac-Man" Jones is not exactly Matt Kemp and George Sherill is not Jonathan Broxton, so I can't understand what Mariners fans would have to complain about.

Adam Jones was our slated starting RF. And now we get to deal with Ranger/Expo/National reject Brad Wilkerson instead. Sherill was one of the main parts to our strong bullpen. I have every right to complain when Bedard hasn't really done more outside of two seasons.

M's have Balentien who should start over Wilkerson. Wilkerson in my view is a backup OF/1B.

Yeah but Wilkerson comes in as the starter.

Balentien, Reed and Morse will all get shots.

Because he has more expierence than the rest of the 3 I mentioned combined. And McLaren leans towards that.

Wilkerson isn't that good and I believe the M's will give Balentien just as much of a shot to start as Wilkerson. Balentien is the future and Wilkerson is a one year guy who shouldn't start. I believe Balentien has the better shot of starting despite no experience. At least let's hope for your sake

I hope Balentien can continue his progress and earn the job. But this is McLaren.
