Padres Padres trade for Jim Edmonds

SignOnSanDiego.com > San Diego Padres -- Padres to get Edmonds

For a minor leaguer, doesn't say who, though.

If it's Headley or Antonelli I'll be pissed, otherwise it's a good fall back plan after failing to get Fukudome and Andruw.

by "good" I mean better than nothing or Geoff Jenkins.

He's very freaking old. I guess he could hang out with Hoffman. Should be good for team chemistry.

Interestingly, even at 37 years old, Jim Edmonds hits better than Adam Kennedy does. And Kent Bottenfield is now a top 10 Christian rock artist.

And is as chronically injured as Bradley. At least they kept up with that.

They should've offered Milton Bradley 1 more million.

They should have gotten a real CFer. I love Edmonds but he is past his prime and doubt he ever sees 100 games again. Too much punishment on his body for him to stay healthy. He lost his power and going to Petco makes it worse. Padres better hope Peavy and Young throw shutouts every night because this offense looks bad.

Another question has to be asked. Why didn't the Cards trade for pitching?
