Ah, but they would get two draft picks for him if he leaves via FA. Also, they can try to trade him this summer when teams in contention will be really desperate. It is better than giving him up for a package they aren't happy with.

Zaun playing 100 games and LoDuca playing the other 62 or vice versa wouldn't be bad at all. LoDuca has caught Burnett before. The New York Post reports that the Jays and Paul Lo Duca are close to a one-year contract.
It was reported Tuesday that the Jays had about $2.5 million to offer Lo Duca. He'd probably do better elsewhere, but he sought out the Jays and apparently would like to play in Toronto. We guess this means the Jays won't be offering John Thomson a minor league deal.
Thank god LoDuca's in Toronto,b ecause it keeps him from coming to Washington.
Zaun and Lo Duca sound very scary in a bad way

If true, the Astros could have an infield of Berkman, Matsui, Tejada and Wiggington. Much improved over last year and Tejada would love to hit that sandbox they play in.790 AM in Houston is reporting that the Astros are close to acquiring Miguel Tejada from the Orioles for Adam Everett, Chris Burke and a pitcher.
MLB.com's sources Tuesday were reporting that the chances of an Astros-Orioles deal had dropped to "zero," so we'll remain skeptical until further confirmation comes along.
Go ****in figure. Tejada for just Adam Everett and Chris Burke?MLB.com's sources Tuesday were reporting that the chances of an Astros-Orioles deal had dropped to "zero," so we'll remain skeptical until further confirmation comes along.
Lets put it this way. If the Marlins were able to pick up 6 players (3 of whom are ready to play in the bigs now) for Willis and Cabrera, Santana is worth both Lester and Ellsbury, plus the SS and another outfield prospect. If that were the deal, I'm sure it would have been signed already and both sides would be happy.
If the Orioles are willing to part with Tejada for that little, maybe the Twins should make a push to bring him into camp. They have a lot of good pitching prospects in their minor leagues and a couple of young outfielders. Plus, they could throw Nick Punto in to replace Tejada in the Orioles lineup.

Oh thank godRotoworld:
The Nationals are pursuing Paul Lo Duca, according to the Wasington Post.
Lo Duca's rumored deal with the Blue Jays apparently fell through Wednesday, with Toronto unwilling to meet his salary demands on a one-year deal.
