    Twins Finally Make Trade?

Just not for the guy you think.

The Twins are close to landing Delmon Young from the Devil Rays in a six-player deal that would send Matt Garza, Jason Bartlett and Juan Rincon to Tampa Bay.
The Twins would also pick up Brendan Harris and Jason Pridie, the Star Tribune's La Velle E. Neal III reports. Unless the Twins see Young as an option in center, he'd probably play left, with Jason Kubel DHing against right-handers. Nick Punto could replace Bartlett, leaving Harris to take over at second until Alexi Casilla is ready. The Rays would be opening up room in the outfield for Rocco Baldelli or Elijah Dukes. Jonny Gomes' chances of sticking around would also seem to increase.
This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Young is better than Baldelli, Dukes and Gomes. I am glad to see the Rays focusing on pitching but don't think giving up a real stud like Young is the way to do it. I guess he has more trade value than Crawford and the other guys I mentioned. Twins will be getting an All Star for years to come. Rays would get a great #3 starter behind Kazmir and Shields plus their SS they have been wanting. They also get someone to set up Reyes which they also needed. Both teams get better if this is true. WOW!

I have no idea why the D-Rays are doing this. Young is easily the best young hitter in the game today.

Young's nowhere near the best young hitter in the game.

    Yet.

And jesus christ, no wonder the D-Rays suck, have sucked, and always will suck. Who the **** makes this deal? WHO?!

apparently in the new, re-worked trade that just went down, the Twins get to keep Juan Rincon.

This is a fantastic deal for the Twins. How stupid can Tampa Bay be??? What's next...BJ Upton for Kyle Davies?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Interesting. How will this change the Twins' demands for Santana? Or will they choose to hold onto him now for a potential playoff push in '08?

Santana will be traded. He turned down our offer, so he will be gone and I will guess soon. Hughes and others will be on there way to Minnesota! Yankees are the team to beat as we all know. There about the only team that can take on another 120 plus million a year contract!

    Re: Twins Finally Make Trade?

That is a very interesting thought. If they keep Santana now and also keep Nathan, their pitching is still pretty strong. They lose Garza and Silva, but still have Santana, Liriano, Slowey, Baker and they still have a pretty good bullpen. Adding Delmon Young may not be enough firepower for the Twins still. Even with Morneau and Mauer, but it is definitely a great push in the right direction.

They aren't the only team that "can." They are the only team that will.

So this deal with the rays wouldn't be that bad for the twins. Kinda puts the twins in a rebuild mode that we are too used to seeing. So if the trigger gets pulled on this, then send Nathan to the brewers for ryan braun, straight up.

And if possible, could we refrain from the "JC" please......thanks
