According to the Arizona Republic, Eric Byrnes has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Diamondbacks.
The deal is said to be worth around $30 million and comes shortly after the two sides reportedly broke off negotiations. The newspaper speculates that with Byrnes signed long term and both Chris Young and Justin Upton not going anywhere, the Diamondbacks may look to part with Carlos Quentin.

Great signing for the DBacks. I am a little disappointed as I wanted the Giants to try and sign him. He is an electric player who is willing to do anything to win except touch home plate in the ALCS and instead just limp around. Other than that his is willing

Lucky D-Backs. Looks like my Byrnesie isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I agree with you that it would've been cool if the Giants had made some sort of a move to get him, especially since the Giants were his fave team growing up. But hey, what happens happens, and the D-Backs are going to be keeping a great guy.
