    Melky compares very similarly with a young Bernie Williams. I'm not saying he's going to be Bernie, obviously, but the comparison can be made (switch hitting centerfielder). Not to mention he's only 22 and could still fill out and add some power.

    And for what? A rental? I'd rather see Joba in the 8th and Melky in CF than Gagne and Damon.

    Buster Olney reports the deal is done. Gagne will reportedly also get his performance bonus paid out by the Sox.
    I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

    I'm sorry but I don't think the Rangers were asking for any of the Yankees top prospects for Gagne. Teixeira they were but not for Gagne. Great move for Texas and Boston. Boston shows they are prepared to win the whole thing again while other teams are simply just trying to make the playoffs. Big difference! Texas gets a solid young pitcher and OFer. I like this and will be looking forward to seeing Saux games from the 7th on.
