Cubs C Kendall dealt to Cu-hubs!

The Official Site of The Oakland Athletics: News: Oakland Athletics News

Contacted by phone early Monday evening, A's general manager Billy Beane confirmed the deal but would not reveal the name of the player being acquired in exchange for Kendall. MLB.com has learned that the player is a Minor League left-handed pitcher.
see you later! I don't care who we got as he would have walked anyway...and we wouldn't have gotten anything in that situation.

One of the worst power hitters in baseball...perhaps a switch back to the NL Central will benefit him however. If the Cubs only gave up a crappy prospect, it's a good deal for both teams.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

its rob bowen the guy the cubs acquired for barrett and blevins, who is a decent prospect but he had just gotten to double A so he wasnt going to be in the bigs anytime soon as the cubs still have a bunch of arms blocking him.

So long, Kendall! Now it's up to Suzuki and maybe the new guy to have the catching duties here in Oaktown...

Whatever team loses Jason Kendall wins. Seriously, it's hard to imagine a worse overall player in terms of value, except maybe Coolio Lugo.

Who ever called him a power hitter? I think I know what you were trying to say but just worded it wrong. Catcher who batted leadoff aren't power hitters. Both teams did well on this one. Kendall is good with pitching staffs and should fair better in the NL Central. A's get a nice young lefty who will help that bullpen around 2010 and a catcher who did well in SD to help Suzuki out.

ESPN - Kendall happy to waive no-trade clause for Cubs - MLB

Oakland also sent the Cubs $4,541,257 to cover most of the remaining $5,398,907 of Kendall's salary, which was $13 million this season.
So the Cubs only have to pay him $857,650?!?! Why the hell are the A's sending over $4.5 mil? We should have gotten more in return for sending that much money. It's not like the Cubs are poorer than the A's
