When it comes from Beane himself, its not speculation. It was reported on ESPN News and ESPN radio as well.

Haha. Beane floats everything, knowing most of it is meaningless. Just because he wishes something would happen doesn't mean that there have been any kind of negotiations about it.

You're right Saber, it doesn't mean anything. This is a rumor and doesn't mean it will happen. But this is a wish that can definitely happen.

Giambi did a skit for David Letterman the day he signed with the Yankees. He was slamming the city of Oakland I believe for Letterman's Top 10 jokes. He even took a dig at New Jersey too for some odd reason. I guess he needed to be cool.
You can't take a Letterman skit seriously, Dave's people write that stuff and it's all in fun.

The article didn't have any real bad things to say, he took the one little shot but that's not that bad.

I would take Giambi if we don't have to pay much, but why would the yankees pay other teams to take a good player (though struggling this season)?

I for one didn't think it's funny and I have grown tired of Letterman using New Jersey and its citizens as his punch line since his show started on NBC years ago. Go ask the people of Oakland and they didn't think it was funny either.

He came off pretty bad. There was more attacks out there.

Whether Letterman is funny is another debate but they were trying to be funny

The point is it wasn't funny and I find it insulting when someone attacks another city. Being a Jersey resident for years, I sure as hell don't like any Jersey jokes.

I don't think the door is closed as far as an article or Late Night skit.

It depend on the Yankees willingness to write a welfare check and sending junior down the road onto the next bus.

Steak, I live in Kentucky. I hear dumbass jokes about Kentucky all the time on TV and they don't bother me a bit. As for showing you the articles, I did that already. Where do you think these reporters and TV analyst are getting the numbers and info from?

Me neither. Like I said before, it's all speculation on the columnists' part.
