They're really throwing money around down there in Miami now.

He got short-changed. The man is worth more than that. Sad thing is they have offered th same amount to Cabrera. Cabrera too should make a lot more than that.

Anyone even understand the concept of leverage in negotiations?

Using other contracts as a standard, Willis is worth well more than that.

Using simple dollars it's only slightly less than what he's worth.

Of course, using other contracts as standards is why Ted Lilly is getting 10 mil per now.

He has no negotiating leverage because he was not a free agent. The contract was done to prevent an arbitration case, not to keep Willis signing with another team. Figure it out.

Basically Saber is saying that had Willis not have taken the $6.45 million, they're may have been a chance he would have been forced to take less if the arbitrator played in favor of the Marlins round figure. Which usually seems to be the case during arbitration unless the franchise shows absolutely no effort to atleast try to offer a player a respectable amount based on production.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

Can you even figure out how to tie your shoes?
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
    Ted
: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
    Barney: Circle gets the square!

This is undoubtedly the biggest contract in Marlins history.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.
